Theory Explication MMD

The Gestalt Theory of Learning Explication

Project Overview

I developed a theory explanation focused on the Gestalt Theory of Learning, in the EME5216 course on Theories of Learning and Cognition for Instruction at Florida State University, This Explicate was later transformed into an engaging and interactive learning module for the EME5602 Technology and Design course.
This module presents an overview of the Gestalt Theory and a few of the associated principles for the law of perceptual organization. This lesson features a resource page that provides a range of supplementary materials, including an infographic, an instructional document, and additional resources, all of which can be downloaded and saved for future design projects.

Content and Design

Content and Design
Considerable time was dedicated to thoroughly examining the key concepts that would be featured in the presentation, ensuring that they were clearly explicated. The design elements were chosen to supplement the learning materials with visual examples. Additional graphics were created to support these visuals as well as the learning concepts for the theory itself.

Learning Interactions and Feedback
Once the content was outlined, additional time was given to crafting interactive activities that prompted learners to engage with the learning materials.

Technology and Media Rationale

The main technology employed in creating these learning materials was Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva. These programs were selected for their ability to generate both graphics and videos. PowerPoint was chosen due to its accessibility and user-friendly interface, along with its functionality to import a variety of files, including graphics, infographics, and videos. This capability is crucial for instructional design, particularly in the corporate environment, where rapid prototyping and quick turnaround times are often essential.

Tools Used
