Executive Summary

Over the last two years, I have had the opportunity to explore different instructional design practices and learning theories through my studies in the Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies program at Florida State University. I have concentrated on enhancing my understanding and application of learning theories and systematic models, with a particular emphasis on adult learning and skills training within the corporate industry. I have pursued electives that enable me to express my creativity and graphic design skills through game-based learning and gamification. I enjoy finding innovative methods to engage adult learners in dynamic learning environments that will improve retention and boost employee performance. Learning Solutions Architect - Navy Federal Credit Union

My current role as an LSA is focused on identifying learning needs, recommending effective solutions, and aligning them with the organization's strategic objectives. I frequently collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement learning initiatives that support professional development, employee upskilling, and other company-wide goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Consult with business leaders to identify learning gaps and recommend solutions.
  • Design and develop learning programs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Use data-driven methods to assess the effectiveness of learning solutions.
  • Conduct needs assessments, develop training materials, and facilitate them.
  • Mentor and collaborate across departments to ensure smooth transitions and successful outcomes.
  • Serve as a project manager or support project teams on large-scale initiatives.

I specialize in developing and delivering training programs that meet the needs of adult learners in a corporate setting. Particularly those focusing on skills development, technical systems training, fraud prevention, or effective teaching methods for adult learners.

My methodology is grounded in the idea that adult education must acknowledge and cater to the diverse learning styles and experiences of its participants. I aspire to create learning communities that empower adult learners beyond skills training, fostering confidence, independence, and a lasting passion for learning in adults.

Professional and Career Development Goals

As I progress in my career, I aspire to move into higher-level leadership roles where I can further strengthen the Security Training team's ability to create and implement effective training programs that align with the needs of our division and the organization as a whole. My goal is to incorporate cutting-edge technologies and resources to optimize our processes, allowing us to better support our business unit partners. I am dedicated to minimizing turnover within the security division by fostering a nurturing and engaging atmosphere that motivates employees to stay and thrive.

I am exploring opportunities for continuing my academic journey. I have a keen interest in how Gamification and Game-Based Learning can be integrated into corporate skills training, especially in simulated training settings. So far, I have conducted several small-scale MVP projects with the Fraud Operations Response Team in the Security Division within Navy Federal Credit Union. I aim to broaden this research within skills training initiatives for my organization to investigate its broader impact on effective learning and development within the corporate industry.
